FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Motorsports are expensive. But our goal is for any youth who has a desire to participate — to get that chance. RYF does not charge participation fees — but donations are welcome. Between payments to the track organizers, tires, fuel, firesuits, helmets, brakes — a track day is certainly pricey. But we only accept donations from those families that have extra to share. This is not a money making activity for us. It is a passion project.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We want kids to stop driving dangerously on the street — and realize that instead they can find adventure in controlled environments like the track. RYF just happened organically. We first noticed our kids were bringing their friends. Then the friends of those friends would ask to come. Before we knew it — we had groups of kids coming out for every event! Watching the positive vibes among kids convinced us that there’s a real need here. Kids crave adventure. They want to go home and show their friends pictures of excitement and risk-taking. Not everyone knows where to go or how to access safe environments. So we are doing this because we love God and we have a passion for motorsport. We are finding that given the opportunity — kids can make the commitment to put performance driving where it belongs — on the track.
HOW OFTEN ARE THE EVENTS?
Michael is just one dad. He’s not a professional events organizer. He’s not a transportation logistics pro. He’s been doing off-road and on-track activities just for himself for decades. And he eventually expanded that to doing family activities just for a small group. He can usually get four or five kids out on track in a single event. But we are still figuring this out as we go along. If you are good at event planning, or marketing, or have a desire to help — PLEASE JOIN US. We need all the help we can get. We can handle about one event per month at this point. Which has meant sometimes kids have to wait for their turn. But just reach out to Michael and he’ll go over the schedule and try to give your kids an estimate of when they can attend. Through flexibility and faith — we are making it all work out!
CAN PARENTS COME?
Definitely! We want and need you there. We’ve even noticed that sometimes these events turn into surprisingly powerful bonding experiences for parents and kids. You will be appreciated and have lots of opportunities to be involved and help trackside. It will be a fun day.
CAN WE CONTRIBUTE TO OFFSET COSTS FOR OTHER KIDS?
Yes. We appreciate the help with our desire to extend motorsports opportunities to each and every kid who expresses interest. Reach out to Michael via michael(at)REVYOURAITH.com; or use our donate page.
